My Cybersmart game Update

😎💂The Force Awakens to the game of cyber smart!!!💂😎

Bonjour World/classes and schools!This term and year us the year 5's and year 6's made a cyber smart game.To me the whole point of making this game is because we need to test our learning and our memories and for future digital classes to play. 

😎What I did to make this game good was that I added some symbols on to the drawing or what ever kind of google slide drawing and doc.Then I edited the links by using Ctrl-k and then placing the link in it.Then the final touch up to this was the decorations and stuff.

Finally here is my finished work.

Novel Study

This term Room 8 received a slide which was from our (Room 8) teacher.It was hard work making and finishing tasks that were on it but in the end of it,it felt good because it was finished and then that means that there will be no more hard work!👍

My creative Toy!!!

This term and The last two weeks we looked at making fun playful toys out of homemade and everyday things we use at home like hair clips milk,bottle caps and we also got to buy some stuff like motors.It was a lot of fun work and a lot of some experimental work like putting battery's with motors together and working out how they will work together to make a working circuit.Our toy needs to have a mechanism,A mechanism is something that can make something move or do anything you want it to do.

These photos are the pictures pf my groups creation of the paper rubber band gun with a mechanism and a dart board to shoot  the rubber bands.

How we made the toy -

• First we looked at the materials that we might use.
• We then looked up a video to help us make it.
• Then we started with the fun making it!
• When we finished we decided to make another one but a better one.
• Now we are about to decorate it.

Today with James we went on our Chromebooks and used google maps to bookmark where we were born.These are some of the questions we as waikowhai students needed to ask.

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach Waikowhai Primary School?

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?
Beacause they think that New Zealand is a better place than to live in that county that they are living in.

Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us?
The media tells us that there are more people coming in to New Zealand from other contries and buying houses.

what will you do

Today we had James come in to do some cyber-smart.We made scenarios about bad or negative comments/text on social media.Something really fun was that we still get to use our technology and the hard thing was thinking hard while there were noise.This is what my one looks like.
What could you do?

- What I will do is that I would not reply saying something nasty so that they won't say anything nasty back.

- what I will obviously do is tell/report the comment to a older person or just get out of the website.

Our wonderful art...

In term 3 room 8 were told that there will be a art competition.
Once room 8 heard this they got straight to work.Mr Riceman told us all about David Hockney and then we got so inspired that we made our own piece of art work from the help of Mr Riceman and David Hockney.What I learnt from this piece of art work was that you need to be working hard.This is my slide I made.

On Monday I made a padlet with my other class mates and James.We as Room 8 used padlet to brainstorm what makes a good comment.Why we made this was because that we need to show others what writing tools you need to make a good blog comment.I love answering blog comments so please feel free to leave a comment on my blog.

Today for Cybersmart our Cybersmart teacher came in and told us we needed to make a Before and after google drawing so we can reflect on what we didn't do good on our blogs and then we can make it good and perfect.

Term 2 - Soccer zones

This term lots of people joined to help support the waikowhai soccer team.We had a girls team and a boys team but only  28 people made it made it in to the soccer team.We won 3 lost 2 and drew,But at least we made waikowhai history.It was my favourite activity because I got to see some people from my old school even when they don't even remember me!

My Blog Treaty...

Today I have done a perfect job making a Blog treaty.Firstly my whole class,James(our cybersmart teacher) and Mr Riceman discussed all about what a good Blog looks like .I made this Blog treaty so that I can show others that this is what a good and perfect Blog looks like.
