Monday Fun day

Hola a toros blogging world. On Monday we (Waikowhai Primary School) had the last fun day of the year, It was SUPER fun. We had so many fun activities including one of my favourites, scooters and more wheels. This activity was one of my favourites because I own a pro scooter, another bonus because we could ride around the whole court. Another one of my favourites was the slip and slide because you got to go really fast but a bad thing about the slide was that, when you go really fast , you might fly over the red cushions and start scraping your back against the grass ( Mostly if you are not wearing a shirt.)  This was the most exciting, enthusiastic day ever. Here are some photos of me:)  πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜€

Rippa zones

Bonjour everyone! Today I will be showing you my favourite highlight of the year. My favourite highlight of the year is the Rippa Rugby Zones. This is my favourite highlight because we got to go to Eden park and play with very talented schools. Another reason was because I could finally get out and about being active instead of staying at school and doing worksheets! Please leave a comment down below, Here is some photos about the day.  Blog you later!

The celebration day #Awesome!

The celebration day was a blast!
Hola Bloggers, today I will show you my celebration day slideshow. This slideshow is packed with photos about the day. It also has some descriptive words about explaining what I liked and what I didn't like. What I found hard: I found that most hats confuse me a little bit because I had a perfect idea in my mind but, I just could not put it into sentences. What was easy: I found the start easy because the teachers said that we could look at the photos of the day but!, I have already seen the photos about the day so then that gives me a big head start. Reflections: I think maybe next time I could go over and read my sentences again. Here is my finished work. ENJOY!😎😁

Creative Writing - Manukau

Hello blogging world, Yesterday for creative writing we (Seniors) had to write a story from a picture of a small baby turtle.Challenges: One big challenge for me was that I love to ride pro scooters and play soccer. So when I heard 'Creative' Writing I thought I could write about scooters. But, I knew I like playing soccer, plus, since turtles are born on beaches and people like to play soccer on the beach, I decided to make a story about the turtle seeing people playing and more other things.

Here is my finished piece.
Please leave a comment in the comment section below,
PS: See if you can answer the question, post your answer below😎😁

Procedure writing - How to make Recycled Paper

Hello blogging world, Today I will be showing you how to make paper from my experience. The Reason why we ( Class Manukau ) are making paper is because of a very exciting event, The Waikowhai primary Celebration Day. Let me show you how to make Recycled paper.

Materials Needed: Mesh,Deckle,1 Bucket's,Old shirt, large container ( that can fit the deckle and mesh ) Water (Warm - Hot), Egg Beater, Used paper and some towels.

Warning: Remember to put your old shirt on before anything.

Step 1 : Grab your used Paper and rip it up into pieces sized 5 - 7 cm.You then put the ripped paper into your bucket. (Remember: The smaller the paper the more easy it is to turn it into pulp)

Step 2: Then you get the  ripped paper which should be inside the bucket and pour warm water  into the bucket.

Step 3: Get your egg beater and mix the paper water, until you create a mixture the is all pulpy. ( Make sure your water is the colour of the paper.

Step 4: You then pour your pulpy mixture into the large container.

Step 5: Dip both hands in and swirl around letting your pulp swim around in the water. (Your water should turn into the colour of the paper)

Step 6: Put together the mesh and deckle. Grip the mesh and deckle tightly and dip the mesh and deckle landscape or portrait.

Step 7: When you think you are ready, bring the mesh and deckle out along with the pulp.

Step 8: Take the top of the deckle off,

Step 9: Gently take the mesh off and carefully place it onto a towel.

Step 10: Place another towel on top of the paper and flip the towels carefully

Step 11: Take the towel and mesh off and leave the paper to dry.

Then... Congratulations you have made homemade paper!

My Reflections:
What was good: I thought that making paper was totally cool because you can save the earth and trees.
What was bad: The bad thing was taking the mesh and towel off, The reason for this was because sometimes the paper sticks onto the mesh and wrecks the whole thing.
How has thinking changed: Making paper was so cool because there are things I have never learnt about for example, the mesh and deckle.
Connections to sustainability: I think reusing paper to make recycled paper is a big help for the Environment. People cut down trees for paper and trees provide oxygen for us to breathe. So making recycled paper is really good fro the earth and the environment.

Waikowhai Primary School Celebration Day

Hello Blogging world, This week we are going to be very busy, Because we are going to be making products for the Waikowhai Celebration day! The Waikowhai Celebration Day will be held on November the 25th. The whole three classes of Te Waka Ako is going to be making cool products such as, Soap (Waitemata) , Tote bags ( Hauraki )  and finally Hand Made paper ( Manukau ). I am in class Manukau so I am going to be making hand made paper. Since we (Manukau) were making paper some of the paper we made did not turn out the way we expected it to be but some did. SO, we then decided to use the paper that was not formed  properly and cut that paper to make other things for good uses like Gift tags, pictures for the Christmas Cards we made and more! Since we were making a lot of stuff we ( Te Waka Ako ) Decided to make some posters to put around the neighbour hood. What I found Hard: What I found hard was the fact that we ( Manukau ) were making lots of cards and gift tags that we did not have too much time to finish off the posters. What I learnt: I learnt how to make paper which was very fun because I have never experienced how to make paper.  Here is my finished piece of work.

CYBERSTALK??? OR CYBERSPY???

Hello blogging world yesterday for cyber-smart Gerard gave Waitemata and Manukau a very hard task to look for Ako-hiko digital classes and other clusters all on a website called Google my maps. This task for me was quite hard because we had a google drawing that had some tasks for us to complete. The problem with this was that on the google drawing it had a task to find people from 5 different country's that have visited my blog, But I did not have that much people from other country's. Here is my  project. Hope you enjoyed and please leave a comment have a great holiday! ^_^ 😎

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF CRAZY SCIENCE

SHAZZAM!πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‰ Hi bloggers today the 11.9.17 , Waikowhai Primary School had some fantastic visitors that came to perform some crazy science. Richard the mad Scientist was the main actor along with his D.J Robin. The show to me was totally awesome because Richard did heaps and heaps of magic tricks. My personal favourite experiment/trick was the one how Richard had a little tube, then he put in 1/3 of water inside the tube, finally he gets a painkiller for headaches/tablets and put it in the tube. He then told us that there are bubbles forming up which will make the tube shoot upwards. After a short while the tube just shoots up with so much speed that it smacks our hall ceiling! That's how a rocket works.
After that trick we moved on to something really cool but weird at the same time, He taught us about...DIAPERS! so first he got some liquid that was in a clear plastic cup and then he had another clear cup but in that cup he had the powder that the diaper factory's put in the diapers. He finally mixed the liquid with the powder and then poured the mixture on his head, But, when he poured the mixture on his head nothing fell or came out because mixture had frozen because of the powder that comes inside of the nappy. What I learnt: I learnt that diapers come with a weird powder inside that will dry the wee that goes on it... What I will do, I will try to actually find cool magic tricks to share with mates. I wonder?: I wonder if magic is real or not.   Here are some photos and highlights, Please comment down below telling me if you can do any type of magic trick.
ENJOY!πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‰

IT IS FINALLY HERE..

Hi Bloggers and welcome back to my blog. Last week Tuesday some of the year 5 - 6 went to camp. Camp to me was very exciting at first but when we got on the mountain it was very challenging.
Some of the challenges I faced was snowboarding, because we had to learn how stay safe how to stop and other important lessons.
Another challenging task was trying to budget my money because I only got $20 to spend but I ended up spending it on the first day on the mountain! My last challenge was trying not to give up on the mountain because once I fell I would always just moan, But sometimes when I fell I would sometimes see a teacher on the chairlift saying "Good Job!" Some of the very exciting visits were Hamilton gardens,Huka falls #AWESOME and lastly the hotel.
The Hotel was amazing, lots and lots of kind caring staff and lovely food to eat every morning and every night. The beds in the Hotel was very comfy and it even had a TV (Bummer we never got to watch only the parents!) Here is something called the Camp Booklet. It is where we keep memory's or highlights from camp.
We could never have survived camp without all of our lovely parents and staff.A lesson I learnt on the mountain was to never give up and to always tie up your boot tightly.I hope you enjoyed  and please leave a comment if you have ever tried  out snowboarding or skiing. Here is my finished work along with some photos of me on the mountain.

Smart choices comic strip

Hola blogging world ,  A few weeks ago we as Te Waka Ako ( The Senior Syndicate ) made a comic strip. When we did this we had to put some photos of what we were doing wrong. The whole point of doing this was that we knew what the consequences were with bad and naughty emails. This is my finished work.

What I learnt from this was that when we go our emails, we really need to be careful of what we send and if we get a bad email then the first thing we do, is tell the teacher or a nearby adult. I hope you enjoyed this and please leave some comments down below. Thanks again and have a great holiday!

Befunky and thinglink photos

Wow! now I do not look like myself,Very interesting. Bonjour Blogging world! On Thursday the 15th of June, we as Te Waka Ako made a befunky photo to go with an introduction of ourselves on our blog. How Te Waka Ako did it: First we got our photo which we made from last week, on befunky. Then we dropped our photo off at thinglink so we can start our Introduction. Finally we put some bullet points about ourselves. Here is my finished work from thinglink. Tip: Hover over the dots/bullet points to get  information.
Reflection: While I was doing this I noticed how much skills people have in common like computer skills and shortcuts . I also learnt you can be brave and ask others for help, even though they are someone you don't normally hang out with.

Crafting a terminator/Creature...

😞Glitching,Er,Error Creatures taking over...  πŸ˜ž

Last week we went on to a website to create a creature. The website name is called ' Build your wild self ' After making our own custom character. We made a google Drawing with a Y - Chart where we planned what things our character do and what is special about it.

Grod has big floppy ears that is really good at hearing from more than 10 miles and 500 kilometres. His Bullet proof turtle shell is really protective when there is a lockdown anywhere. Grod has a scaly reptile tail that moves very fast only in trouble but like at 10,0000 m/ph.Grod also has a very weird dangerous arms that are like scorpion arms. His arms snap loudly when he thinks he is in trouble.Stomp,Stomp! Goes Grod’s big rhinoceros feet. Grod’s feet is light but stomps hard and fast,His Feet are fast so he can escape danger. His horns are as strong for cutting meat or traditional food for dinner!,but his only weakness is pumpkins because he can not stand eating or being near it.

Grod has feet like as fast as a cheater. His shell can reflect bullets and is bullet proof. His tail swings fast to to keep him from danger and his floppy ears can hear anything even when he is sleeping. His rhinoceros snout can sense any trouble. His Scorpion arms is like scissors and like a fork and knife so he can eat.

Grod is really good at hearing from far distance.Over all his body is very protective. His tail is very fast that there was this time when He nearly got bullied but then whacked the bullies leg once and then ran of.His arms are a really good thing to have because he doesn’t have to eat with a fork or a knife because his arms can do the job instead of a knife .

πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜€I would Love to have your,Positive,Helpful,Creative comments.Thanks Again,See You!πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜€
